Angie DeFilippi
“Therapy isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about seeing yourself more fully—beyond your mistakes, the labels you’ve carried, or the painful experiences that shaped you. When we begin to understand and accept every part of ourselves with compassion, we discover that our story is still being written, and we have the power to shape what comes next.”
Why She Does This Work
Angie believes we are all shaped by the stories we’ve lived and the stories we’ve come to believe about ourselves. Some of those stories help us grow. Others keep s feeling stuck.
She became a psychotherapist because she wants to help women see themselves more fully—not defined by their hardest moments, but by the whole of who they are. When we understand ourselves with compassion, we gain the freedom to choose how the next chapter of our story is written.
What It’s Like to Work Together
Therapy should feel like a conversation—one where clients feel heard, understood, and supported.
Clients often describe Angie as warm, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. She creates a supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, gain deeper insight, and develop practical tools to move forward with confidence.
Her Approach
No two people are alike, so therapy shouldn’t be either.
Angie integrates evidence-based approaches—including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Sandtray Therapy, nervous system awareness, and trauma-informed care—to create a personalized therapy experience tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
Beyond the Office
When she’s not working, Angie enjoys spending time with her family, horseback riding, reading, making art and playing computer or board games. She believes some of life’s most meaningful moments happen when we slow down, connect with nature, and spend time with the people we love.
